Laravel Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, test, and deploy sophisticated PHP applications primarily using the Laravel framework.
• Write clean, well-documented, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to industry best practices and design patterns.
• Design and implement secure, high-performing RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integration with front-end applications and various third-party services.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and fellow developers to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver new features.
• Proactively troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications to ensure peak performance, reliability, and security.
• Contribute actively across the entire software development lifecycle, from initial concept and detailed design to rigorous testing and smooth deployment.
• Continuously identify and implement strategies to optimize application speed, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Participate in constructive code reviews, providing valuable feedback and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Manage and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity and efficient query performance.

Required Qualifications/Skills

• Demonstrable professional experience as a Laravel Developer or in a similar backend development role.
• Exceptional proficiency in PHP and extensive experience with the Laravel framework (versions 8+ preferred).
• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Solid expertise in relational databases, particularly MySQL, including schema design, optimization, and query writing.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript.
• Proficient with version control systems, specifically Git and GitHub/GitLab workflows.
• Ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React, Angular) for full-stack contributions.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Docker or other containerization technologies.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Understanding of security best practices in web application development.
